Workshops, Trainings and Fieldtrips

The Southern Fire Exchange is hosting a Virtual COMPASS Fire Science and Management Communication Workshop this November. Grounded in the latest research on communication, the workshop will explore what makes people sit up and pay attention and how to build a meaningful connection with your audience. This will involve hands-on practice, feedback, and interactive exercises to help you communicate with your target audience about fire science and management, whether that target audience is landowners, journalists, funders, or anyone else.

There are limited spots available for this workshop. If you would like to participate, please apply for the workshop using the link below by the end of the day Tuesday, September 29. You will be notified by Friday, October 9 if you have been accepted into the workshop. Those accepted will be required to pay a $35 registration fee to register via Eventbrite. There are scholarship options available for those who may need them. Those we do not have space for will also be notified, and placed on a waitlist in case spots open up.
