Wildland Fire Chemicals can be extremely effective firefighting tools which may increase the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of firefighting operations on the ground. Fire management agencies use several types of wildland fire fighting chemicals. The specific requirements, uses, and tactics for each type depend on the characteristics of the type of product. This webinar will give an overview of the three major categories of fire chemicals: Class A foam, water enhancers/gels, and long-term retardants, their use, and the environmental implications of each of them. Also discussed will be formulation changes over the past decade, as well as a briefing on the aerial application of these products.
