CALIFORNIA FIRE SAFE COUNCIL is delighted to announce that we are partnering with NFPA's Firewise Communities program to offer this outstanding opportunity to learn more about how to protect people and property from the risk of wildfire.

This two-day workshop is designed to:

a) Increase your understanding and competency in wildland urban interface fire mitigation.
b) Increase your understanding and use of NPFA 1141 and NFPA 1144.
c) Assist wildfire mitigation and prevention professionals, regardless of organizational affiliation, in assessing risks to individual homes in wildland, forested or grassland areas.
d) Encourage and prepare residents and homeowner associations to participate in the Firewise Communities/USA recognition program.

The two-day agenda includes information on: The Wildland Urban Interface; Dynamics of WUI Fire; Identifying Hazards in the Home Ignition Zone (HIZ); Assessing Wildfire Hazards Around Existing Homes; and New Construction & Safe Communities.

NFPA/Firewise has approved a special discounted registration fee of $195 per person (normal registration fee is $395). This fee covers the two-day course, workshop materials, two beverage breaks, two breakfasts and two lunches for persons registering through the California Fire Safe Council.
