The following document is intended to provide a basic understanding of raster data. Raster data layers (commonly referred to as grids) are the essential data layers used in all tools developed by the National Interagency Fuels Technology Team (NIFTT). If you are an experienced ArcGIS user and well familiar with raster data, you may skip this primer or review it as a refresher.
