Lesson Overview: Based on student’s school assessment, students will make recommendations to their school about actions they can take in landscaping and preparing the school building for fire.
Lesson Goal: To give students a sense of agency to know that they can make a difference in their school’s fire resiliency.
Objectives:
- Students can synthesize data collecting in the Assessing Your School lesson to design solutions through thoughtful recommendations to improve fire resiliency.
- Students can build a presentation to share the solutions they have synthesized.
- Students can incorporate edits into their presentations to increase its quality.
- Students can effectively communicate findings from their school assessment to school administrators.
