From the text ... 'Lately, there has been a tremendous amount of interest in managing predators to increase bobwhite populations. The long-term decline in bobwhite populations throughout the southeastern U.S. has caused many people to look for factors that are responsible for the decrease. Oversll, the bobwhite decline has been the result of widespread habitat loss from: 1) changing land use in agriculture and forestry; 2) expanding suburbs and urban sprawl; and 3) lack of widespread use of prescribed fire.' © 1997 Quail Unlimited, Inc.
