From the text: 'There is an awareness by many of our educational institutions to the fact that continuing education beyond graduation is a function that must be given greater emphasis. These institutions offer any number of special courses, seminars and programs designed to further our efficiency and understanding of our profession. It is interesting to note that many of these educational programs are not technical in nature but deal with the social sciences. Consider the number of organizations that have programs designed to be educational in nature. This Symposium, sponsored by the intermountain Fire Research Council, is an example of such a program. Our main concern should be to implement ideas presented in these programs into our organization. It is often too easy to not 'roack the boat.' We should attempt to tear down those barriers that restrict our endeavors to continually improve conditions in our respective areas of responsibilities.'
