From the text... 'A man needs good judgement and experience in deciding whether conditions are favorable to burn slash west of the Cascade Range in Oregon and Washington. If burning conditions are not correctly analyzed, slash may not burn sufficiently well to reduce the hazard or it may burn too readily and damage soil or adjoining stands. One way to supplement judgment and experience is to study burning conditions and results of slash fires.'
