This project focuses on the development of a model for prescribed fire decision support that uses decision science principles to represent fuel management program design in terms of strategic alternatives and contingencies. The model is based on the architecture of the Wildland Fire Situation Analysis (WFSA) used in wildland fire decision support, and which uses decision analysis and multi-attribute utility analysis (MAU) to provide a framework for problem structuring, specification of objectives, definition of measurement, and value tradeoffs.
