This cooperative study was started in 1976 to (1) identify and describe forest habitat types in the Routt National Forest: (2) relate habitat types to topographic, edaphic, and climatic factors; (3) describe successional patterns of forest vegetation; and (4) relate Routt habitat types to other Rocky Mountain forests with similar classifications.
