...fire has been generally misrepresented. It is a neglected factor in many forests. Fire needs public understanding and acceptance. We should compare fire's beneficial effects to its well-known detrimental effects before we dismiss all fire as bad, and all wood smog as obnoxious smog. When we have learned to use fire to human advantage, we will have learned to control fire. Only then will we have regained the lost art of the aborigine.
