This is the data file for the understory plant community in our JFSP Project 2000. The data were collected from July 2001 through August 2004. We repeatedly estimated percent cover of understory vegetation (trees and shrubs not over 1.4-m tall, grasses, forbs, and vines). Data were collected on four randomly located 1-m2 subplots per 0.1-hectare main plot. Collection dates were post-burn in July 2001 (pctcov0/tranpc0), preburn in June 2003 (pctcov1/tranpc1), post-burn in July 2003 (pctcov2/tranpc2), and post-burn in August 2004 (pctcov3/tranpc3) The variable names with the prefix 'pctcov' are percent covers, and the variables with the prefix 'tranpc' are the arcsine transformations of percent cover in radians. The suffix 0-3 denotes the order of sampling for analysis in a repeated measures model. Haywood and Springer collected these data. The filename is merged understory 2001-2004.txt.
