From July 2001 through August 2004, we repeatedly measured midstory vegetation for all sites. The midstory is defined as trees and shrubs (arborescent vegetation) over 1.4 m tall and with a dbh between 25 and 99 mm. Data were collected on four randomly selected 10m2-subplots per 0.1 hectare main plot. Collection dates were in July 2001 (post burn), June 2003 (preburn), July 2003 (post burn), and August 2004 (post burn) by Haywood and Springer. Variable names are type, block, trt (plot), July-2001 count (stems per plot), July-2001 diam (average dbh in mm), June-2003 count, June-2003 diam, July-2003 count, July-2003 diam, August-2004 count, August-2004 diam. The filename is 'merged counts and diameters for the midstory.txt'.
