The Forest Resiliency and Forest Practices Assistant Region Manager position at the Washington Department of Natural Resources assists the agency in the development and implementation of agency policy for two very key programs: Forest Resiliency (including smoke management, fire regulation, fuels reduction, landowner assistance) and Forest Practices. This position works under guidance from applicable laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies, procedures, and guidelines for these programs. The position is also guided by the Forest Practices Rules (passed by the Forest Practices Board) and the Forest Practices Habitat Conservation Plan; and associated local agreements which are numerous. This position reports to the Southeast Region Manager and must interact with DNR staff; the general public, state, county, and federal agencies; small and large landowners; and tribal representatives.
