The Air Quality Program (AQP) within the Washington State Department of Ecology is looking to fill a CRO Air Monitoring Site Operator (Environmental Specialist 4) (In-Training) position. This is an exciting opportunity to help bring real change for better air quality in heavily agricultural areas in the east slopes of the Cascades. This position you will carry out air monitoring for fine and coarse particulate and other criteria pollutants and their chemical constituents throughout Ecology’s Central Region. It will play a key role in the implementation of air monitoring networks in overburdened communities pursuant to the environmental justice provisions of the Climate Commitment Act as well as assist in the AQP’s shorter-term efforts to monitor smoke from wildfires and other wildland fire activities. This work includes coordinating with, and providing technical assistance to, local, state and federal agencies, tribal nations, academia, contractors, and the public.
