The Alaska Fire Science Consortium is funded by the Joint Fire Sciences Program to develop strong fire science outreach and delivery in Alaska. This involves partnering closely with fire professionals and scientists to build strong two-way communication.

This position is coordinator of the consortium and research liaison with the fire community in Alaska. The work involves communicating science, working with relevant committees of the Alaska Wildland Fire Coordinating Group to identify research needs of managers and suppression experts, collaborating with fire outreach and education specialists, communicating consortium activities and identified research needs with the Joint Fire Sciences Board, and research in fire ecology. This position may include travel to meetings and workshops within Alaska and to the Lower 48.
