The Alaska Reference Database originated as the standalone Alaska Fire Effects Reference Database, a ProCite reference database maintained by former BLM-Alaska Fire Service Fire Ecologist Randi Jandt. It was expanded under a Joint Fire Science Program grant for the FIREHouse project (The Northwest and Alaska Fire Research Clearinghouse). It is now maintained by the Alaska Fire Science Consortium and FRAMES, and is hosted through the FRAMES Resource Catalog. The database provides a listing of fire research publications relevant to Alaska and a venue for sharing unpublished agency reports and works in progress that are not normally found in the published literature.

Fuel loading, fireline intensity, and expected fire size were determined after harvesting small-stem lodgepole pine stands. Curves relating predicted fireline intensity to slash fuel loading and windspeed are presented. Removing about 15 tons per acre of residues reduced…

Residual char from 76 test burns of wood dowels showed unexpectedly wide variation in density. Variation could not be correlated with initial fuel density, burn time, nor incident windspeed.

This Report is a bibliography of publications on all aspects of forest fire produced during the period 1961 to 1977 at the Petawawa Forest Experiment Station. There are 64 items, listed chronologically in four categories. A short descriptive note accompanies each item.
