Smith, Jane Kapler; McMurray. 2012. FireWorks for Missouri River Country. Missoula, MT: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory (Producer).

This version of FireWorks features the ecology of the Missouri River drainage, reaching from the spine of the Rocky Mountains east into the tallgrass prairie. To learn about some of the plants, animals, and fungi that live in these communities, see the essays in the FireWorks Notebook (also known as the 'FireWorks Encyclopedia' in newer versions of FireWorks).

Like all FireWorks programs, this version provides students with interactive, hands-on activities to study wildland fire. The activities are adapted from the original FireWorks curriculum (Smith and McMurray 2000). It contains four activities from Chapter 7, "Communities in Action" of the original curriculum; it is not a complete FireWorks curriculum. For more information about this version, see the Introduction.
