Share the Airshed
Develop a communications and information sharing network among burners who may be in the burn vicinity on the same day. This enables coordination and planning of ignitions to determine air quality conditions before ignitions begin, and cooperatively limit burning so as not to overwhelm the ability of the atmosphere to disperse the smoke from burns. This also helps prevent contributing to cumulative or adverse downwind impacts from smoke. Forming or joining state prescribed burn councils, is a common and effective approach to sharing the airshed and coordinating with other burners.
