FireWorks Workshops

FireWorks Educator Workshops are typically offered each year at the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory to teach educators, community leaders, and agency communicators how to use the FireWorks curricula and trunks of materials. Workshops are two full days, and participants can earn university credit through the University of Montana, or Montana OPI credit.

Participants learn hands-on activities for teaching about wildland fire science:

  • Activities cover combustion, fire spread, fire history, management, and fire effects on plants and animals.
  • Supplemented by activities on fire use by Native Americans.

Upcoming workshops:

  • Mini-workshop at the Fire Continuum Conference (May 21, 2018), Missoula, MT.
  • Full 2-day workshop at the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory (June 13-14, 2018), Missoula Montana. See this flyer for more information and how to register.
