Collaboratives fill the unique space of connecting partners across federal, state, tribal, and private jurisdictions. Yet, we don’t often hear much about the USFS State, Private, and Tribal Forestry branch. In this session, we’ll meet Matt Tuten (Cooperative Forestry Program Manager) and Amie Anderton (Landscape Scale Restoration & IRA Landowner Assistance Program Program Manager), two of the faces behind this lesser-known arm of the USFS who are really excited to meet you. They’ll share with us:
- What is USFS State, Private, & Tribal Forestry?
- Why do they want to strengthen relationships with collaboratives on the ground?
- What’s the deal with this new funding opportunity, IRA Forest Landowner Support grants for “supporting underserved and small-acreage forest landowner participation in emerging private markets”? (Hint: Matt and Amie have some creative ideas that go beyond just Carbon markets, and they are excited to brainstorm more ideas with you!)
Then, they want to hear from you! They’re ready to hear your ideas about ‘emerging private markets’ and listen to your feedback on how they can better engage with and support collaboratives.
