About the Event
This two-day event hosted by the Green Mountain National Forest will showcase the Dome’s unique ecological features as well as current management objectives and recent harvest and prescribed fire entries. Northern New England does indeed have some fire-adapted plant communities, including in Vermont. You will examine how sassafras and oak in the Green Mountain National Forest respond to the changes created by fire, how the National Forest monitors and analyzes these effects, and how to set ecological goals and desired fire effects in the various treatment blocks.
