Registration is now open for the 2021 Fall Cascadia TREX. Come learn and burn in Roslyn, WA this fall!

This fall the Washington Prescribed Fire Council and partners will be facilitating TREX training burns in Central Washington with federal, state, tribal, municipal, and private landowners. As burns come in to prescription and become ready to burn, we will begin to mobilize resources. During this time, TREX participants will receive regular communications about these burning and training opportunities and will be able to participate as their schedule allows.

There will also be non-fireline classroom and field workshops planned throughout this fall. Exact details and dates to be announced.

Target Audience: Fire practitioners in Kittitas County and nearby.

Training Dates: Starting September 20 through the end of the burn season. Exact burn days will depend on burn unit readiness, weather conditions, and resource availability.

Requirements: All participants must have a current Red Card or have completed NWCG courses S-130, S-190, and L-180, FEMA courses ICS-100 and IS-700, and annual pack test, and be able to provide proof of completion. Participants should come will all personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes fireline approved boots, a new generation fire shelter, hard hard Nomex clothing, leather gloves, and eye protection. We will be following state and local COVID-19 safety protocols.

Logistics: Meals and lodging will not be provided. Camping may be available.
