Webinar - Alaska Wildfire and Mental Health Study

The University of Alaska Anchorage and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have partnered to study the effects of the 2019 wildfire season on the mental health of communities in Southcentral Alaska. Through activities both with community members and professionals the study has identified several recommended actions for future wildfire preparedness which have the potential to promote the mental health of communities and prevent the mental health problems identified. In this one hour webinar, the study team members from UAA and JHSPH will present the findings of this study. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a Q&A session with the study team, to discuss next steps, and to exchange contact information with other professionals in the state interested in promoting mental health during future wildfire seasons.
