Northeast Washington TREX

Description

This spring the Washington Prescribed Fire Council is taking a modified approach to TREX that will support training opportunities for local participants, including fire department personnel, in Northeast Washington. Burns are being coordinated with federal, state, tribal, and private land managers across the region over the entire burn window, with resources and personnel being mobilized as burn units become ready. Participants will be on call for live fire training opportunities as burn units become available to burn. We will be communicating frequently through each week about potential burns, needed personnel and equipment, and associated position taskbook training assignment opportunities.

Target Audience: This event is open to individuals located in northeast Washington with a current Red Card or other proof of meeting minimum NWCG wildland firefighting standards.

Training Dates: Starting April 19 through May 31 . Exact burn days will depend on resource availability and weather conditions.

Location: Spokane, Pend Oreille, Stevens, and Ferry Counties

Original training dates (postponed due to COVID-19 concerns): April 26 - May 8, 2020
