Anticipated Effects of Climate Change on Forests and Other Ecosystems in North Central Idaho and the Region

We hear a lot about climate change and its current and anticipated effects at the global scale, but what about in our own backyard? What does the latest science project as likely changes to forests, rangelands, wildlife and aquatic ecosystems in our region due to climate change? How are these anticipated changes likely to affect the natural resources that we depend on from these systems, such as forest products and wildland recreation?

This program will give a brief summary of some of the scientific research that has been conducted on how climate change is anticipated to affect ecosystems in our area as well as the naturalĀ  resources that we depend on from these systems. In addition, recommendations based on this science will be presented for how landowners can take account of these anticipated changes in the management of their own land.
