Incorporating fire research into land management and restoration work across the Midwest


The Eleventh Annual Chapter Meeting of the Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration will be held at Central College in Pella, Iowa from April 12 to April 14, 2019. This year’s meeting theme is Cultivating Innovative Restoration Connections in the Midwest. Our primary meeting goal is to explore how to foster the development of innovative restoration connections ecologically, culturally, and professionally to enable the field of ecological restoration to meet future challenges.

This meeting will include this symposium on Friday: "Incorporating fire research into land management and restoration work across the Midwest"

This symposium is co-organized by Dr. Yari Johnson, University of Wisconsin-Platteville, in partnership with the Tallgrass Prairie and Oak Savanna Fire Science Consortium. Researchers and practitioners will share their experiences integrating research and management, as well as efforts to involve undergraduate students in prescribed fire. The symposium includes 4 speakers and a question and answer session.
