Workshops, Trainings and Fieldtrips
Learn the ins and outs of mastication on these two field tours of sites with recent mastication treatments. Scientists and graduate students will draw on recent studies from Idaho and the Interior West to address a variety of topics ranging from when and where mastication is useful to mastication's effects on fuels and fire behavior and how those effects may change over time. Operational considerations of mastication treatments such as cost, machines, and silviculture will also be covered during the field tours.
Check the NRFSN event pages (Potlatch, Grangeville, or Winchester) for more details and to register. Cost for each mastication field tour is $10.
