Workshops, Trainings and Fieldtrips

Tucson, Arizona: August 4-6, 2015
Aguascalientes, Mexico: October 6-8, 2015

In 2014-2016, the Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) is developing a landscape conservation planning and design process with their partners which includes convening collaborative workshops. Through workshops and stakeholder input they are developing conservation goals and adaptive management actions for three focal ecosystem types within their geographic area:

  • Arid grasslands and shrublands
  • Streams, including aquatic and riparian resources
  • Springs, including aquatic and riparian resources

By working together to incorporate climate-smart adaptation into their existing decision processes across multiple jurisdictions, they can collectively work towards sustaining ecosystems for people and wildlife across the landscape. The primary goals of this effort are to add value to their partners۪ efforts by integrating data and supporting work that builds resource resilience in the face of climate change and other ecosystem stressors. Climate-smart landscape conservation design workshops are a key way that you can engage in the process.
