Great Basin Climate Forum

Description

Given the success of the first Great Basin Climate Forum last April, the Great Basin Landscape Conservation Cooperative, the California Nevada Applications Program, and the Western Regional Climate Center, with support from the Desert Research Institute (DRI), will host the 2nd forum on October 17, 2012 at DRI in Reno, NV.

Please register for the meeting at GBCF@doattend.com. Although there is no registration fee to attend the forum, the registration site will issue you a "ticket" that you can bring with you to facilitate signing-in on the day of the Forum. The Forum will also be webcast, so you need not travel to Reno to watch or participate.

We will be focusing on current climate conditions, a recap of summer and early fall, anticipation of the coming winter, and the implications for management in the near-term.

Our list of confirmed speakers includes:

Kelly Redmond, Western Regional Climate Center
Gina McGuire, Western Great Basin Predictive Services
Chad Mellison, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
