In this webinar Chris Fettig will summarize the current understanding of the interactions between fire, fuels, and bark beetles while focusing on the responses of bark beetles to fuels management treatments. The effect of bark beetle outbreaks on fuel complexes and subsequent fire behavior will also be covered. Dr. Fettig will draw from work in conifer systems throughout the western US, with an emphasis on ponderosa pine.
