ANNOTATION: The purpose of the paper is to discuss some of the implications of improved residue utilization on timber sales activities. Improved residue utilization on timber sales requires new and innovative economic and practical approaches on timber sales. Varying uses, resource needs, and economic limitations complicate the land manager's task of salvaging this material.
