This presentation was given by Martin Alexander as part of the Wildland Fire Behavior Specialist Course, February 2008. The objectives of this unit, titled Advanced Fuel Type Modeling, was to explore in more depth the background and underlying assumptions of the Canadian Forest Fire Behavior Prediction (FBP) System fuel types as a basis for making adjustments and to examine a specific example of adapting the FBP System fuel type classification scheme to a non-standard fuel type.
