This report describes the results of an aerial detection survey flown over portions of the Kenai National Moose Refuge and adjacent State and private lands to monitor a previously reported infestation of spruce beetle that has been active for several years and to obtain an up to date picture of spruce beetle activity on the Refuge and adjacent lands. The report concludes that spruce beetle mortality has significantly increased in the mature and overmature stands of white spruce on the Kenai Peninsula.
