This study shows that extensive forest inventory data can be used to evaluate selected spruce bark beetle infestation dynamics. Trends in the amount of area that has been infested and is currently undergoing infestation can be estimated. Trends in size and health of attacked trees and in degradation of radial growth can play a role in monitoring forest health changes.
