From the text ... 'In this chapter we summarize these data on fuels and fire intensity, as background to the ecological studies that follow. In addition to the seasonal patterns of fire behavior, we detail the relationships between intensity and immediate postfire indicators of fire intensity such as leaf-char height and leaf-scorch height.'
