From the text ... 'Wiregrass is a 'keystone' species of central importance to the longleaf pine community. This grass added to longleaf pine straw comprises the primary fuel base for frequent fire. At least 141 rare plant species, literally hundreds of other plants, and many wildlife species are closely associated with wiregrass.'
