Description

Slash components and organic matter from alpine fir, Lodgepole pine, and white spruce stands and clearcuts were ovendried to determine elapsed drying time. Weighings at specific intervals showed that each fuel component dried exponentially and that the time required to ovendry similar fuel components correlated directly to initial moisture content. Results indicated minimum drying time can be predicted for fuels from initial moisture content.
