Summary: 'Chief McGuire's words were that 'fire management cannot be separated from total forest management. It must always be considered in land use planning.' Achieving this objective and dispelling some of the myths still surrounding fire managemnt will require, in summary, understanding of fire as process and tool, capably demonstrating fire menagement principles on-the-ground, and perceiving fire management as a mutually supportive organization of diverse skills and disciplines.'
