'Natural resource management is an important activity in our society. The conservation and current environmental movements have emphasized the importance of sound management of natural resources. While there may be significant potential gains for production of our renewable resources, there will also be increasingly restrictive constaints placed on methods and program applied to achieve improved productivity. Land management deals not only with complex biological interactions within and among ecosystem, but must also consider socio-economic interactions.'
