From a taxonomic standpoint the flora of Connecticut is adeqately summed up in several more or less comprehensive bulletins which have been published by the Connecticut Geological and Natural History Survey, but except for a few casual references which have appeared incidental to these and other papers no attempt has yet been made to portray the ecological relations. In this first paper attention is directed principally to those larger and more general aspects of plant distribution which seem of phytogeographical interest. ©1913. Torrey Botanical Society.
