Description

A system being developed for the Krasnoyarsk Region of Russia integrates satellite remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems, and ground-based sampling to provide timely information for wildfire prediction, monitoring, and management on several scales. Hardware, software, and methods of data analysis and interpretation are described. This approach is proposed as a prototype for a potential worldwide wildfire management and monitoring system.
