Roger Ottmar led numerous field studies on the effects of smoke on firefighter health. He presented this talk at the RX410 Smoke Management Techniques class March 25-29, 2013, Fairbanks, Alaska. This 30 minute module (RX410 Unit 5B) covers effects of various smoke components on firefighter health and summarizes the research that has been conducted on this topic, as well as discussing mitigation strategies and respirators.
