Description

Important seasonal fuel moisture data is lacking in Alaska. In 2012, several areas collected duff and live fuel moisture samples throughout the summer to calibrate and validate CFFDRS indices, to monitor prescribed fires and adjust staffing levels. Continued monitoring in 2013 will help to develop Alaska specific DMC and DC equations. Presented at the 2012 Alaska Fire Science Workshop in Fairbanks, Alaska.
