Job: Fire Management Specialist (Planning) - Colorado State University Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) - Remote

A Fire Management Specialist (Planning) position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands at Colorado State University.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized and professional guidance, leadership, coordination, and program direction in wildland fire management. This position is responsible for developing plans and procedures consistent with Army IMCOM guidance and coordinating information between Army IMCOM Program Managers, installation wildland fire managers, and other federal wildland fire partners. The incumbent is responsible for applying knowledge of the latest developments in wildland fire operations and fire management planning to understand the relationship between wildland fire management and other programs to achieve long term land management objectives.

This position is available as work from home. The incumbent will work remotely from their current location and will coordinate closely with the Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) G-4 ENV located in San Antonio, TX.

This position is responsible for developing fire planning policies and procedures consistent with national level guidance and coordinating information between national, geographic area, and field organizations.

Prior wildland firefighting experience on the fireline is a mandatory requirement.
