This is a full-time year-round position that begins (negotiable) December 2022 or January 2023. The position is based in multiple locations. The Multiple Location Burn Crew Manager will split their time between the Chattahoochee Fall Line of Georgia in Box Springs (December - May) and The Nature Conservancy’s Wells, Maine office (June – November) with some possible travel to numerous sites within each state and neighbouring states. They will be a part of the seasonal burn crews in each location as well as engaging in preserve management activities outside of prescribed fire timeframes.

The Multiple Location Burn Crew Manager (MLBCM) oversees a squad (2-5 Fire Management Technicians) in wildland fire operations which include ignition, control, mop-up, suppression, monitoring, and other tasks as assigned. The MLBCM must use safety equipment and maintain a safety-conscious attitude at all time. Tasks will include assisting with preserve management activities such as preparing firebreaks, herbicide application, boundary maintenance, equipment/vehicle maintenance, fence construction/removal, constructing parking areas, meeting with local landowners, assisting with field trips, leading volunteers, biological monitoring, timber marking, and other land management activities as needed. Positions will be focused on the management and restoration of critical native ecosystems.
