The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resource's Clear Creek Forest District is hiring a Fire Forester with a primary area of responsibility in the Eastern Fire Division (Armstrong, Clarion, Jefferson, and the southern half of Venango Counties: Barnett Twp., Forest County and Millstone Twp., Elk County). This position is responsible for planning and implementing fire management activities; pre-planning forest fire suppression strategies; managing prescribed fire operations; coordinating the Out-of-State Fire Program; assisting with State Forest Management activities to include preparing plans, determining treatments, administering timber sales, regeneration projects and estimating timber damages; monitoring insect, disease, and non-native invasive plant populations and impacts; participates in suppression, surveillance, ground checking, and herbicide application activities; conducting educational programs; and assisting with Search and Rescue.
