Job: National Program Lead for Forest Inventory and Analysis (Outreach Notice) - US Forest Service - Washington, DC

The US Forest Service Research & Development anticipates advertising a permanent position soon, open to applicants from within and outside the Federal Government, to provide national leadership to the Forest Inventory and Analysis program, which produces the authoritative forest surveys for all ownerships of the United States. This position is located on the Inventory, Monitoring, and Assessment Research Staff (IMAR), within the Office of the Deputy Chief for Research and Development in the Forest Service’s national headquarters. IMAR is a small, deeply committed team providing national leadership for the Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program, US Forest Sustainability Assessment program, RPA Assessment research, remote sensing and geospatial analysis research, and research information management.
